You know what’s cooler than signing up to the Papergang? Helping to save the bees too!

This month we are proudly supporting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust (BBCT) – a British charity dedicated to saving and spreading awareness surrounding the bumblebee population. Unfortunately in recent years, bee populations have been rapidly declining due to pesticides and environmental changes, meaning action needed to be taken!

The Bumblebee Conservation Trust work towards 3 main aims;

  • Supporting the conservation of all bumblebees, rare or abundant

This means that the charity aims to halt and reverse the declining numbers of our bumblebees, ensuring their place in our ecosystem!

  • Raise awareness and increase understanding about bumblebees in all aspects

The charity itself helps spread awareness of bumblebee population issues. It aims to show everyone that they should appreciate and value the lil' guys!

  • To ensure that the BBCT is sustainable, fit for purpose, and able to respond quickly to challenges and change.

All in all – The Bumblebee Conservation Trust make sure that they are one step above the rest! They have their knowledge and budding volunteers to help protect these lovely insects.

“Yea, but what do bees actually do?” We hear you ask!

Bumblebees play a vitally important role which we shouldn’t take for granted. They pollinate many crops that provide us with food to eat and the colourful flowers in our landscape. Without their ‘free-bee’ service, many wildflowers and the animals and ecosystems which depend on them could decline dramatically or even disappear altogether. – The Bumblebee Conservation Trust

So bees are pretty damn important you guys!
