Artist of the Month: Meg Fatharly

Introducing one of our newest collections from the utterly lovely Meg Fatharly.

Based in Cornwall, Meg is an artist with a talent for turning everyday feelings, relatable jokes and beautiful creatures into tactile little works of art. Her pieces feel instantly familiar, like thoughts you didn't know how to put into words until you saw them staring back at you.

“People often say they feel seen by my work, and that is everything to me."

While Meg is best known for her delicate tin linework, Meg shares that she originally started with paper! Her process is about letting texture and pressure do the heavy lifting and that process shaped everything: paying attention to impression rather than perfection, and letting the material lead.

Meg says: “Tin came later, almost as a counterpoint. I love the contrast between something quiet and subtle and something that says, 'bam, here I am.' That push and pull is still at the heart of my work.”

Meg’s collection is as eye-catching as it is relatable. These are cards that make you pause, smile, and lean in to read the message. This is a reflection of her tin artwork that resonates so deeply with people. When asked how she wants the collection to make people feel, Meg replied “People often say they feel seen by my work, and that is everything to me. Making art has helped me express things I can’t always compute or process. If someone feels understood or recognised when they see my work, then it’s doing what I hope it will.”

It was this human touch, paired with Meg’s perfectly dry wit, that first caught the attention of our Creative Team. We hope that these cards will spark genuine smiles with their uncannily spot on captions.

Meg sums this up well with her favourite card: “If I could send you a dog I would. This card is the next best thing.” She describes that it’s affectionate, a bit funny and genuinely caring. "It says exactly what I mean most of the time, with far fewer words."

We’ve loved diving into Meg’s process, story and sparkling new collection — and we hope you have too. If you’re feeling excited (and we don’t blame you), be sure to check out the collection here.
