About the role:

Ohh Deer accumulates over a million unique visitors across its websites each year, and our web team is at the core of ensuring our online services are capable of delivering the quality of service our customers have grown to expect from Ohh Deer. Our web team also develop in-house apps, which support the day to day running of our warehouse, marketing, and sales teams. We’re looking for a Mid-Weight Web developer who is looking to shake up the greeting card and gifting industry, in a fast-growing company where no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for helping us maintain and develop company websites focusing on usability and high quality.  Our website is often the first interaction people have with our company, so having the best website is essential for us as first impressions really do matter.  Our main websites are built on Shopify and experience with Shopify is essential.

The role sits within our Operations department but will work closely with different teams within the company.  We’re a fast-paced company with lots of ideas, this role will be vital in helping us reach our ambitions.

About you:

We’re looking for someone that has an excellent grasp on web development.  You should be competent and savvy with your ideas and work ethic.  We’re still a small team, so contributing ideas will be essential.

You will also need to be highly organised as well as having a good eye for detail and design.

We are still a small company and you should be used to this type or environment and want to work in it - it can be challenging but also more fulfilling as you will help steer our web development direction.

You shouldn’t be afraid to get stuck in and you’ll work closely with key departments within the company, including the Company Directors.  You must understand our company voice and identity.

About the role:

Our main Ohh Deer websites remain a vital part of our business, it’s often the first thing our customers see when stumbling upon our brand.  Over the years the site has developed to our unique collection of greeting cards, stationery and gift. It’s important that the websites remain up to date, relevant and pushed for their best return on investment.

We want our websites to have the time and coordination they deserve which this role will be responsible for doing.  You’ll be heavily involved in devising a strategy for the websites and making sure that it operates and performs to the best of its ability.  You will work closely with different departments, ensuring that clear communication happens for various campaigns and development requirements.

You will have a marketing budget that you’ll be responsible for returning the best possible return on investment and hitting target via digital marketing, PR and ‘growth hacking’.

About you:

You should have an excellent grasp on marketing and know how to coordinate a project to ensure that everything just works, meeting customer satisfaction and gaining the best possible return on investment.  Having experience of working within e-commerce, while not essential, would be desired. 

You need to be driven by results and understand that successful marketing is more than just the visuals, it’s about analysing data to feed into your strategy and drive results.

You should understand our company voice and values as these play an important role in all products we put out into the world.  You should also have strong copywriting skills and have an excellent understanding of social media.

About the role:

Subscription boxes are booming and the Royal Mail forecast that the UK industry will be worth over £1 Billion by 2022 (it’s already over £10 Billion globally!).  This year we launched our second subscription box which is dedicated to supplying the best art supplies and providing a magazine which is packed full of creative inspiration and workshops to use your materials with.  This box is sent out quarterly and has been receiving glowing reviews since its launch.

We want Artful to get the time and coordination it deserves which this role will be responsible for doing.  You’ll be helping to devise a strategy for the subscription box and making sure that it operates and performs to the best of its ability.  You will be heavily involved in curating the subscription box and building an Artful community.

FINANCE CO-ORDINATOR

About the role:

This is a key role for the company as you’ll be responsible for maintaining and analysing the finances of the company, including managing profit and loss reports, filing VAT returns, payroll and managing the sale and purchase ledgers. 

The company has been growing rapidly since we started 9 years ago and we have various sales channels and plans for me.  We believe that this role will provide good variety.

You will also report regularly to the company directors about the financial position of the company as well as liaise with our accountant.

You will also manage the day to day work of the book keeper, ensuring that everything is completed in a timely manner and accurately.

Keeping on top of our finances is essential for growing our company and you will play an important role in helping us achieve our ambitions.

About you:

You need to understand and have proven experience of working on company accounts, including VAT, profit and loss, Balance sheets and Payroll.  You should be able to quickly process data and meet all essential deadlines as laid out by the company and HMRC.  This role deals with confidential information so discretion is essential.

You should also understand the difference between profit and cash-flow and ensure that both remain healthy.

We use Quickbooks, so experience of using this software would be beneficial.  Our company also has several revenue streams as well as payment providers so you should be able to work across different platforms including PayPal.

You should also be confident in being able to present financial reports to your manager and company directors.
